The kitchen staff is planning to cook twenty turkeys this year for Thanksgiving Day dinner. Each year the turkeys are donated from individuals and groups who want to help the homeless on this special day of the year.
Samuel took down the old outside lamps and installed new powerful LED lights on the outside of the mission. They have really brightened things up at night.
Thanksgiving Day is just around the corner. We are getting excited about sharing this special holiday with our homeless friends and the community. Last year we served a record 968 meals!
Kenny helps a tremendous amount around the mission. He has been cutting the grass while we are looking for someone to help in that area. Now he has taken on the responsibility of watering the front Canna Lilys. They are looking great!
Roy and Ed came by and gave the mission a check for $310. They raised the money in 15 minutes! They are also working on acquiring sheets and blankets for the shelters.
A friend from Ringgold grew these amazing vegetables and donated them for the shelter meal.
Chuck saw the Mission needed help carrying display items to special events. He bought this practical gift with all kinds of office supplies.
The Dorcus ladies group at Nelliehead Memorial Baptist Church donated six large boxes of sleeping bags! Our friend John brought them by the mission.
Thanks to our generous donors, the men’s shelter received a brand new water filtration system. The men are grateful for the cold, clean water available after coming in and out of the heat.
Stan and Will visited Teresa and Gary at Kingdom Coffee. The Johnston’s have volunteered and given to the Mission for years. They have a new coffee shop in Chicamauga. The coffee, food and fellowship were outstanding!
